Advocacy focused on stigma faced by LGBT+ youths in a school setting highlighting HIV in MSM, and Transgender communities. We have successfully completed our Advocacy program in Zhemgang Dzongkhag funded by an Amplify Change grant through Lhaksam.

Rainbow Bhutan in collaboration with National HIV/STIs Control Programme under Ministry of Health is conducted a two day training on Sex, Sexuality & Gender in Relation to HIV & AIDS for key affected populations in Bhutan (6th to 7th May, 2019).

Due to limited knowledge on specific health issues, it is always a challenge for the community to get the right services. Rainbow Bhutan identifies and collaborates with allies in the health sector to ensure that the community is taken care of when they need the support. IDAHOT – International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia
Bhutan this year observed its 5th IDAHOT which was held at Thimphu at Hotel Migmar on May 17, 2019. The event was attended by 37 participants from the community, civil society organizations, Health, LGBT+ allies, media and the developing partners. While international theme of IDAHOT 2019 was ‘Justice and Protection for all’ Bhutan this year celebrated with the national theme ‘Celebrating a New Beginning’ since Rainbow Bhutan has now embarked on its new journey as a separate entity with the aim to become the first and only Civil Society Organization in Bhutan that will work to cater the needs and address the issues of LGBT+ population in Bhutan.
